We all know how surgeries go haywire with physics and forces in Surgeon Sim, so we can imagne those issues would be worsened by VR where we can just force our limbs through anythng we want.Ī fully redone, reconsidered, and updated version for VR will be great, but many of us (or perhaps just myself) expected an update to SS2013, maybe in the form of opt-in DLC like the Anniversary content. It's easy to look at the Store page and go "this looks like it has the same content as SS2013" but it likely took some considerable development. I'm not about to dig through the old news posts and community discussions but the implication was that the VR builds being demoed (Space, the Heavy) were about to go into Surgeon Sim, so perhaps the standalone build of the Heavy surgery was a harbinger of this. But it definitely seemed like at the most, it'd be an addon or something. Ultimately, they're free to do what they want with their IP and ultimately if it's a good experience, it's worth however much value you get out of it personally. Oh well right, I guess? It's hard to now how to feel about developing for VR from either a consumer or dev standpoint nowadays. Not upset or anything, just got misled by the vague vaguety of PR. ![]() Originally posted by Nicky the Hutt:So if I understand this correctly Surgeon Simulator 2013 does NOT support VR/Rift/VIVE and will never do, but instead they sell a separate product "Surgeon Simulator ER" () ? ![]()
